Three Questions You Should Ask Before Buying CBD Online

Three Questions You Should Ask Before Buying CBD Online

October 07, 2020

You’ve decided to try CBD—fantastic! But before you buy CBD online, you need to ask yourself a few key questions.

There are a few things you should know about CBD. CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a cannabinoid. This means that it’s one of the many natural chemicals that can be derived from hemp or cannabis plants. More and more people are using CBD products as a part of their wellness routine because scientific research suggests that CBD can help with a variety of conditions.

Many people often try CBD products to help with issues like:

  • Pain
  • Sleep problems
  • Anxiety and stress
  • Skin conditions like acne

If you’re new to CBD, making your first online purchase can be intimidating. There are so many options out there when it comes to CBD, which can be quite overwhelming. But because CBD is a health product, it’s important to purchase high-quality CBD products—after all, your health is worth the investment!

Need guidance on purchasing high-quality CBD? Here are a few questions you should ask before buying CBD online.

1) What type of CBD is right for me?

If you’ve looked for CBD online, you’d have noticed that CBD comes in a few different forms. There are lots of CBD products out there, including:

More and more companies are creating new, adventurous ways of consuming CBD, including CBD teas, bath bombs, chocolate, and even make up. Because there are so many different ways to take CBD, choosing between these different types of CBD can be difficult, especially if you’re new to CBD.

If you have pain in a localized area, a CBD-enriched topical could be helpful. Many companies make balms specifically for painful joints and muscles. However, taking CBD internally could also be helpful.

CBD capsules are great if you’d like a quick, extremely convenient (and usually the most accurate) way of ingesting CBD. CBD-infused tinctures are also easy to take, although some people don’t like the taste.

If you enjoy the act of smoking, CBD-rich hemp flower might be the best way to use CBD. It will not get you high, and it doesn’t include tobacco or nicotine, so it’s great for someone who wants to avoid cigarettes. Many people smoke hemp pre-rolls for socializing, to relax, or for pure enjoyment.

The best way to figure out which form of CBD is right for you is to experiment. If you try one form of CBD and don’t like it, don’t be afraid to try a different CBD product.

2) Should I opt for CBD isolate, broad-spectrum CBD, or full-spectrum CBD?

You might have noticed that CBD products are often marked as CBD isolate, broad-spectrum CBD, or full-spectrum CBD. These terms tell you more about the other cannabinoids that are found in the product.

Here’s what those terms mean:

  • CBD isolate is pure CBD. There are no other cannabinoids or terpenes in the product.
  • Full-spectrum CBD contains all the cannabinoids and terpenes that were found in the hemp plant, including small amounts of THC.
  • Broad-spectrum CBD is like full-spectrum CBD, except that certain cannabinoids are purposefully removed. Usually, broad-spectrum CBD contains all the cannabinoids in the plant other than THC.

Full-spectrum CBD and broad-spectrum CBD are often recommended by CBD experts. This is because of something called the entourage effect. The entourage effect is the idea that CBD is more effective and beneficial when used in combination with other cannabinoids.

However, many people want to avoid THC. THC is the chemical in cannabis that can make you feel intoxicated. Hemp plants contain very little THC and cannot make you feel intoxicated, but many people would rather not risk it, so they opt for broad-spectrum CBD.

Eve Farms offers both broad-spectrum and full-spectrum CBD products

3) Is this a reputable company?

Sadly, not all CBD is created equal. Some CBD products are high quality while others are low quality. It’s important to buy from a reputable company to ensure that you’re getting legitimate, effective CBD products.

Ask yourself:

  • Are their products third-party tested? Can you read the lab reports online? These lab reports should confirm that their products contain what they say it contains. (You can view our lab reports here.)
  • What are people saying about them online? Do a quick Google search for them and take a look at any media coverage that mentions them. Feel free to check out social media, too. What do reviews say about their products?
  • Do they make any exaggerated health claims? Remember that, while research suggests CBD can be beneficial for a variety of reasons, CBD hasn’t been definitively proven to cure anything. If a company is claiming that CBD can wipe out cancer and cure all their ailments, stay away from them.

Remember that everybody’s body is different. Even if you and a friend use the exact same dosage of the same brand of CBD, your bodies might respond differently. The way you process CBD depends on your weight, your metabolism, and your unique biology. If you’re unsure about using CBD for certain ailments, it’s best to talk to your doctor.

Before buying CBD online, it’s important to consider the above questions. Buying CBD can be intimidating for beginners, but if you keep the above in mind, it will help you choose a high-quality CBD product that suits your body and needs.
